Helping Northland tamariki see the world more clearly

Irlen Syndrome affects the way the brain processes visual information — and for many tamariki and rangatahi, it's the hidden reason behind struggles with reading, learning, and daily life. Irlen North Trust exists to make sure cost is never the barrier to getting the help they need.

You’re in the right place

Whether you're a parent trying to make sense of what your child is going through, someone who wants to support our mahi, or a funder looking to make a real difference in Northland — welcome.

We're a charitable trust dedicated to supporting whānau in Northland to access Irlen screening, assessment, and treatment. Funding is on its way, and applications will be opening soon.

Three Pathways

The Irlen North Trust works across three pathways: whanau in need of support, educators and healthcare providers needing information and funders and supporters looking to support the work we do.

Think Irlen Syndrome might be affecting your child? We're here to help you understand what it is, what the process looks like, and how we can support you financially when funding opens.

We help educators and healthcare providers better understand Irlen Syndrome, including how it presents and the ways it can be addressed.

We welcome the opportunity to connect with organisations and individuals committed to advancing the wellbeing of tamariki, or to improving social and economic outcomes within the Northland region.
